Aisia Jones, a Cleveland native, is an activist, organizer, public speaker, and a fluid Artist. She is deeply committed to fighting for solutions for causes such as social and racial justice, housing rights, job opportunities and mental health services. Her experience with community and grassroots organizing has inspired her to look deeper within her homegrown community.
Mrs. Jones’ mission is to spread the message of self-confidence, community awareness, and better ways for all to sustain equity and equality. Aisia believes through positive community relationships and partnerships real change will take place. As a proud graduate of Neighborhood Leadership Cleveland, Class 35, she has been able to connect to more Cleveland neighborhoods and communities.
Aisia is a former co-host of Our Voices Today on WOVU 95.9 FM. She has hosted events for local community centers and organizations. As an organizer for Black Lives Matter Cleveland, Aisia was a part of the leadership team that coordinated the protest against the Presidential Debate held in Cleveland in September 2020. As a change agent, her mission has been and is not to only invoke change, but to be the change needed in Cleveland.
Mrs. Jones is currently a candidate for Cleveland City Council-Ward 8. Her platform includes issues such as community revitalization, public health, public safety, and transparency from local government. She is running to make sure all Clevelanders and all residents of Ward 8 have the opportunity to be heard at City Hall and to make sure ALL of the residents of Ward 8 receive a fair chance at opportunities that include jobs, education, housing, safe and clean streets.
Aisia is proudly supported by her husband, Demarco and their two sons, Sean and Saleem. She prides herself not only for the work that she does, but also for how devoted she is to her family.
